The sheer breadth of the oeuvre of Joseph Beuys (1921 – 1986) is clear from an exhibition that opens in Buenos Aires on 29 March. On display are 110 drawings, sculptures, installations, videos and performances he produced between 1955 and 1985. “Fundación Proa” presents the exhibition, organized by Munich’s Galerie Thomas Modern together with Brazil’s Instituto Plano Cultural.
On show will also be a few bottles of water from the Rhine. In 1981, Beuys dyed the Rhine in Düsseldorf – together with Argentine artist Nicolás García Uriburu.
