Kind Attention President Obama and all Education Leaders: Any Wonder that a Mother Does not Need to be an Expert on Wisdom to Raise a Wise Child?

RIDGEFIELD PARK, NJ, May 04, 2013 /24-7PressRelease/ -- "But you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat from it you will certainly die." - Genesis 2:17

This is exactly what happened. The real pure self died and was replaced by a phony self image. Before eating the fruit of knowledge Adam and Eve were totally lost in the moment, unaware of their own self identity; living in wisdom. Their self image all of a sudden made them aware of their own powerlessness; their helplessness and total dependence on God. It introduced greed, jealousy, fear, longing, ambition; in fact all the attributes of ignorance. From being pure man became impure.

It spite of having acquired the forbidden knowledge; God is giving us clues on how man can still become pure again. He is telling us that He made us in His Own Image. Thus by understanding the very nature of God we will understand our very own human nature.

God is showing us Who He is. God is the Word and the Word is God.

"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God." - John 1:1

Thus God does not just have wisdom, God is Wisdom. Wisdom is an innate, effortless and integral part of God. So for man it is not about having the knowledge of wisdom, it is about becoming wisdom.

The very nature of wisdom is such that it exist as an integral part of the human self. There is no such thing as wisdom being an independent entity. Wisdom is the very human nature of the pure man. Wisdom exists as man.

Somehow man got obsessed with trying to know and have the knowledge of wisdom; all man needs is to simply get what God is saying about wisdom. Pure man is wisdom and wisdom is man! It is as simple as that. This very clear understanding of wisdom is all that is needed to put man and society on a path to wisdom. Wisdom is an effortless biochemical/emotional condition of the pure brain. All we need to do to acquire wisdom is to make man pure. Pure man is a projection of a pure brain; a pure brain is an emotional baggage free brain. To acquire wisdom man must make sure that his brain is free of all emotional baggage.

Wisdom education is not about acquiring the knowledge of wisdom, it is about a healthy upbringing and brain therapy that makes sure the brain is free of all emotional baggage.

God is also saying that knowledge can be a trap and certainly our half baked knowledge of wisdom is a deadly trap! It is amazing how our wisdom experts have missed the true message of God. Wisdom is not confusing if only we can follow the message of God.

It even does not matter for man to even know what is wisdom, as long as his brain is pure/emotionally-healthy/free-of-all-emotional baggage; man will be wise.

History Associates President Brian Martin Speaks on Use of New Media in Presenting Civil War History

ROCKVILLE, MD, April 16, 2013 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Dr. Brian W. Martin, President of History Associates, the leading U.S. historical research and services firm, joined a panel of experts at Gettysburg College on March 16 to discuss future directions for the study of the American Civil War. Dr. Martin, supported by historians Halley Fehner and Robert Colby, used the experience gained by History Associates in developing the Civil War Trust's battlefield tour smartphone apps to comment more broadly on the influence of new media on the study of Civil War history. The presentation was part of a major conference on the Civil War presented by Gettysburg College's Civil War Institute, Gettysburg Foundation, and the National Park Service.

"New media opens up all sorts of opportunities to explore the surprisingly fluid boundaries between historical time and space; the producers and consumers of history; and the professionals from various disciplines that contribute to new media products," Dr. Martin noted. "The broad and deep interest in the American Civil War--especially during the sesquicentennial--provides fertile ground for digital history innovation."

Dr. Martin joined scholars from the University of Richmond, George Mason University, Dickinson College, the University of South Carolina, the University of Maryland-Baltimore County, and Furman University in discussing the benefits and drawbacks of technological advances in the study of the Civil War, and in history more broadly. The panel commented on the positive aspects of new media, including increased access to source material, the broadening of the audience for historical content, the ability to create new interactive tools for historic sites, and the opportunities to create new interpretive narratives and experiences.

The panel also addressed the challenges presented by new media, such as determining and reaching the intended audience and the issues associated with crowdsourcing--opening up content development to potentially anonymous volunteers. The tensions between allowing consumers of history to choose their own interpretive path and the need for expert curatorial handling of historical and digital issues also received a great deal of attention.

The interest generated by the Civil War's 150th anniversary and the possibilities presented by new media have created opportunities to explore history in innovative ways. Dr. Martin noted that History Associates is pleased to have worked with organizations like Gettysburg College, Gettysburg Foundation, and the National Park Service to bring fresh ideas to the interpretation of history adding, "With its expertise in historical content, interpretation, and production, History Associates will continue to be at the forefront of the development of history and new media."

President Duffy and First Lady visit Upper Iowa University alumni in Sumner

President Bill Duffy and wife Sharon visited with Hillcrest Home, Sumner, residents and UIU alumni (from left) Cal Harms '48, Emma (Burkhart) Hough '26, Lorraine Creager '66, Sharon and Bill Duffy, Betty C. Hoth '64, Becky (Harms) Read '74, Almira Pease '31, and Lugene Treloar '71.

FAYETTE, Iowa (June 21, 2013) – Stories of campus and respected UIU professors filled the conference room at Hillcrest Home care center in Sumner, Iowa, this week. Seven Upper Iowa University School of Education alumni enjoyed fellowship and cupcakes as they reminisced and shared personal stories of their college years and their teaching years with President Bill Duffy and First Lady Sharon Duffy.

"We were honored to share the afternoon with these Upper Iowa alumni," said UIU President William R. Duffy II, Ed.D, Ed.S. "These people are the roots of our institution and have such a valuable history to share. They are the reason Upper Iowa University continues to be successful. For decades, these esteemed School of Education graduates imparted their knowledge in their classrooms and made a positive impact in many young lives. Sharon and I were overjoyed to spend time with them. Their stories will be a welcome addition to our UIU archive project."

Upper Iowa University is in the process of gathering alumni stories and memorabilia for the University archives on the Fayette campus.

Among the Hillcrest Home group was Upper Iowa's oldest living alumna, Emma (Burkhart) Hough '26, who is 108-years-old. A double-major in English and biology, Hough was active on campus and one year was the women's tennis tournament champion. With her new honor, she was selected to coach the team while still in college. Upon graduation, Hough was hired as a physical education teacher and head girls basketball coach in her hometown of Sumner. She also taught school in Ironwood and Manistee, Mich., before retiring in 1969. She and her husband, Charles, lived in New York City during the summers to attend Columbia University's master's program. A full article regarding Hough's adventures at Upper Iowa and beyond can be read on the University's blog, Peacock Tales, at http://uiupeacocktales.tumblr.com/.

Betty C. Hoth '64 shared stories of not only attending Upper Iowa, but welcoming many UIU student-teachers into her kindergarten classroom at Durant Elementary in Sumner, Iowa. She laughed as she recalled a UIU professor who would observe the student-teachers in the classroom. "He would sit right down on one of those little kindergarten chairs with the kids!" she said. "I guess he wanted to be right down with the kids to see what it was like to learn from the Upper Iowa student-teachers." Hoth says she keeps in contact with many of her former student-teachers, especially at Christmas time.

Hoth also said that one of the professors she enjoyed was Dick Clark, a 1953 UIU alumnus and history professor from 1959-1967. He served as a United States Senator from Iowa from 1973-1979 and later became an ambassador at large and United States Coordinator for Refugee Affairs. "He was a great teacher," Hoth recalled. "He has a brilliant mind."

Lorraine Creager '66 and Lugene Treloar '71 had similar stories to tell. After raising their families, both went back to school to earn their teaching degrees from Upper Iowa. Creager taught a number of years for the Tripoli Community School District, while Treloar taught in the Fredericksburg School District for 21 years.

President Duffy also visited with Cal Harms '48, Almira Pease '31 and Becky (Harms) Read '74.
